The Black Velvet Necronomicon is a personal project illustrating H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos and Dreamland imagery, and other horror/fantasy ideas and tropes with the technique of applying colored pencil and gouache on black paper. The first publication "The Black Velvet Necronomicon; Black Velvet Cthulhu" was released as a hardbound limited edition in early 2011, and is available here directly from the artist.
